56. Groundhog Day

Living with cancer feels like the movie

“Groundhog Day” — every morning

you wake up and you’re still stuck.

Until this sunny February 2 when

Mom broke the spell,

decided to call hospice.

Cue the old sailor’s song:

“If Candlemas Day is clear and bright,

winter will have another bite.

If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain,

winter is gone and will not come again.”

Punxsutawney Phil said six more weeks of winter.

Mom only had to endure four.
