Apparently, the key to me keeping my wood floors swept is to have a real Christmas tree. When I have lovely needles falling day by day, I reach for the dust mop and fill the trash can with Douglas fir droppings.
The other 11 months of the year? Good luck even finding that darn dust mop.
Here’s a sad thing: I used to think that, since I like doing everything on the floor (reading, grading papers, etc.) and with all that dirt right at eye level, I’d be good at keeping up with the vacuuming. But after reading this, I realized being at carpet level, so close to the fallen crumbs, no longer results in my regular vacuuming.
You know, I was just thinking exactly the same thing! Funny how great minds work along similar tracks. . . :>) (pine needles, as the case may be)
