Crossroads: At the Junction of Poetry and Painting
I have been having way too much fun for the last two months. I’ve been working with a local artist named Nan Henke, combining her paintings with my poetry, including some from The Joy of Poetry and from Rainbow Crow.
In some cases she made a painting to go with one of my poems. In others, I wrote a poem to go with one of her paintings. Sometimes we both created something new that went great together, or other times we found two existing pieces that seemed destined to hang side by side on a wall.
Crossroads opens Friday, April 7, from 4-8 p.m., during First Friday Art Walk, at Fredericksburg Art Guild, 308 East Austin Street, Fredericksburg, Texas.
It’s spring! Join us! (100,000 people came to our ‘burg at spring break alone!) And for my red teacup lovers, yes, we will have tea!
