Poetical Alter Egos: Wild Rose and Still Pilgrim
Over at Poetry for Life, on Substack, we’re writing with poetical alter egos: Angela Alaimo O’Donnell’s Still Pilgrim and Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer’s Wild Rose. Because both characters have poem-talks with God, my poem has a bit of both.
God Plays the Saxophone
Since July he’s here now
always on my left
catching my eye as I stoop right
straining to hear mistletoe
in a silent chapel
He comes in the side door
snags the sax from behind the organ
winks, whispers
I am
all the music you could ever need
– Megan Willome
“Megan Willome has captured the essence of crow in this delightful children’s collection. Not only do the poems introduce the reader to the unusual habits and nature of this bird, but also different forms of poetry as well.”
