Crossroads: laundry poems and paintings
This month at Poetry for Life we’re celebrating the joint art & poetry show I’m doing with artist Nan Henke called Crossroads: at the junction of Poetry and Painting. If you’re in Fredericksburg, Texas in April, drop by the Fredericksburg Art Guild and check out our collaboration!
Today at my Substack, I share a poem from The Joy of Poetry titled “The cure for writer’s block.” Nan did two paintings to go with the poem: one of the laundry in process and one with the laundry neatly folded. They are titled “But What Is the Cure for Laundry?” and they are the centerpiece of our Crossroads show.
What regular activity would be at the center of your personal poetry-painting show?
I loved this book. As soon as I finished, I began reading it again.”
