A Double Dare at the Crossroads
Just like the Grinch, Nan Henke had a wonderful, awful idea. She suggested that I paint a picture and she write a poem to go with it for our joint show, Crossroads. Really, I have only myself to blame. She got the idea to do a dare from my book The Joy of Poetry, in which my my friend Nancy Franson and I did a poetry dare. So, fair’s fair.
Head over to my Substack, Poetry for Life, to view my painting, titled “Thursday, July,” and Nan’s poem, “Sneaker.”
If you’re interested in purchasing one of painting-poem pairs, please reach out to Nan through her website, nanhenke.com.
I loved this book. As soon as I finished, I began reading it again.”
