Motherhood haiku, week 1
with William Butler Yeats’ “The Lake Isle of Innisfree”

Over at Poetry for Life, we begin the Hero’s Poetry Journey with William Butler Yeats’ poem “The Lake Isle of Innisfree.”
Here is my motherhood haiku about that mystical island:
there is no peace here
purple bean rows wait and wait–
where are all the bees?
I loved this book. As soon as I finished, I began reading it again.”
