The Joy of Poetry and a fresh-roasted poem
This month we’re wishing a Happy 7th Birthday to The Joy of Poetry, a memoir about losing my mom and finding poetry. During May I am posting audio of me reading some of my poems from the book over at my Soundcloud.
Soundcloud Poetry
Last week I released “Cutthroat,” about fly fishing. Today I’m sharing “S’More,” which also took place in Creede, Colorado (where the photo below was taken). The poem recalls a night of roasting marshmallows in a chiminea, trying to savor s’more time with my mom.

I loved this book. As soon as I finished, I began reading it again.”
