Over at Poetry for Life, we continue the Hero’s Poetry Journey with Kate Baer’s “Motherload.”

Here is my motherhood haiku about an actual physical scar I carry from my road of trials:

second-degree burn
earned peddling your popcorn –
forearm still tender
